Frequently asked questions

Simple answers to the questions everyone asks before ordering. Tap a question to open it.

Safety & what we see

Is my card safe? Can someone copy or misuse it?

Yes. With self-transfer, your card stays in your hands the whole time. It never leaves your home, so no one can copy it. You can also lock your card in your bank app while you move the chip. We never ask for your PIN, OTP or bank password. If anyone asks for these, it is not us.

What details of my card do you see?

Only what is printed on the card, like the name and card number. You type these yourself while ordering. We use them only to engrave your metal card. They are stored safely and deleted after your card is made.

If we ever need a photo of your card, we ask only inside your WhatsApp chat, and we tell you to cover the secret numbers with your thumb.

We never see your PIN, OTP or bank password. In India, printed details alone cannot move your money. Every online payment needs an OTP.

Does it work (tap, ATM, swipe)

Will tap-to-pay still work?

Honest answer: on Classic Metal, tap-to-pay stops working. Everything else works as before: ATM, swipe, chip insert and online payments. If you want to keep tap-to-pay, choose TapNpay Metal (₹6,999) — we check your chip first to confirm it will work.

And with any card, you can still tap using your phone. Just add your card to GPay.

Will it go inside ATM machines? Is metal not too thick?

Yes, it works in ATMs. The card is only 0.8 mm thin — about the same as a normal card — and the same size as your debit card. Many banks already give metal cards, and ATM machines are made to accept them.

It is heavier than plastic (about 28–30 g). That is the premium metal feel in your hand — weight makes no difference to an ATM.

Process & delivery

How does the whole thing work?

Step 1: pick a design and book it from ₹1,000. No card details needed now — it takes about two minutes.

Step 2: we make your metal card and send it.

Step 3: with self-transfer (2–4 days), the kit reaches you and you move the chip yourself in about 10 minutes. With full-service (~7–10 days, +₹500), a tracked courier picks up your card, we do everything, and both cards come back to you.

How many days for delivery? Is shipping free?

Self-transfer kit: 2–4 days. Full-service: ~7–10 days door to door. Shipping is free all over India. We dispatch within a few days of booking — if we cannot, your money comes back automatically.

Guarantees & expiry

What if the chip gets damaged while I move it?

This is very rare — about 1 out of 100 people. Before that point, you get a free video call with us to guide you, and a free extra kit if needed. If the chip still gets damaged, take a replacement card from your bank, send it to us, and we will do the full transfer for you, free.

My card will expire one day. What happens then?

When your bank sends you a new card, you keep your metal card. We move the new chip into it for ₹499 (our Re-Transfer Promise). You do not need to buy a new metal card.

Legality

Is this legal? Will my bank have a problem?

You are not making a new card or a new account. It is your own card — we only rebuild it in metal, and your ownchip goes into it. Same number, same account. The card still belongs to your bank, under your bank’s rules.

If your bank has a special rule about card changes, message us on WhatsApp and we will help you check before you order.

Payments, COD & refunds

Why do I pay ₹1,000 first? Is my money safe?

Every card is made only for you, so a small booking amount from ₹1,000 saves your order. You get it back in full, any time before we start making your card.

Payment always goes to CarbonCraft through Razorpay — never to any personal UPI number. And we never message you first asking for money.

Refund policy →

Can I pay cash on delivery (COD)?

Yes, in most pincodes. With COD you pay 20% extra, only on the balance — never on the booking amount. Example for Classic self-transfer: ₹1,000 online now + ₹2,399 cash at the door = ₹3,399 total. If you pay the ₹1,999 balance online instead, there is no extra charge.

One thing to know: if a COD parcel is refused or not accepted, the ₹1,000 booking amount is not returned, because the card was made only for you.
